Schooling on VI

Just read the Wiki on schooling, including the Fraser Institute material. Has anyone had any poor experiences with their kids schooling after relying on a Fraser report card as a factor in their choice. It would be really helpful to hear from any teachers in the Nanaimo area, as we are looking at living in Nanoose

Cheers TTP

I'm not sure that Nanaimo area people are going to be any help in this case.

Schools in the Nanoose Bay are fall under School District 69 (Qualicum)

http://www.sd69.bc.ca/cms.asp?wpID=89

There doesn't appear to be many members of BE in the Nanoose/Parksville/Qualicum area. Some have looked into moving there but in general after a brief look moved on, describing Parksville and more so Qualicum as being very similar to the old UK TV series Waiting for God.

In other words very much a retirement community.

I think Qualicum is a definately that, although a few miles south you do get less zimmers.

When I'm over in a few weeks I think I may head down south to Victoria and have another reccie.

Thanks for that Steve and sorry for being a chuffer....

You might want to be aware that the Fraser Institute has a certain ideological tilt. That's not to dismiss them out-of-hand, just take that into consideration with regards to their findings. ;)

UK dirt-disher The Daily Express claims that Tom Cruise hopes to produce a remake of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Apparently, he is so into it that he has already started interviewing potential screenwriters for the project where he would play Sundance. The role was originally made famous by Robert Redford in the original 1969 western. The role of Cassidy is said to be taken on by Butch Cassidy of British Expats...
