I'm on the hunt for sausages too but the english fish & chip shop style, the wife likes the heavily processed type rather than what we get in ontario - i like brats in beer myself :)

We get those ones here in Canadian Superstore, but I find them extremely salty...
Not being a sausage aficionado I have no clue, I thought you just fried 'em up. :) |
Re: Sausages (again)
In Calgary Spolumbos make English "bangers."
http://www.spolumbos.com/ You can get them at Co-op - or at their own restaurant/store. |

Our local Extra Foods (part of Canadian Store) do President's Choice (own brand) Original Bangers and we find them pretty good.

Re: Sausages (again)
I make my own sausagemeat, mainly cos of the gluten thing, and it's easy enough. Otherwise we get sausages from Costco or Octoberfest things that are similar to the bratwurst we are used to having.

They're not bad, especially in a sandwich with lots of butter and brown sauce. We alway cook two packets so we can eat them cold when we come back from the pub a bit pissed.

http://www.irvingsfarmfresh.com/sausages.htm The quality is good, for sure, but the sausages are bland and dry and he only does unsmoked bacon. He's a decent bloke though and I've spoken to him a couple of times at the farmers market. He's obviously proud of his produce, but it's just not for me unfortunately. |
