Leave em to it and the majority of them grow out of it or end up working in piercing shops.
As an aside when I read the thread title I thought it said Elmo (you know the fluffy red guy from sesame street) - would have been more up in arms about that one!!!!!

Bah ha ha....ha. Probably the most preposterous thing I've seen today.
Have these people actually heard a Fall Out Boy song?! * shudder* It's dangerous stuff I tell you....that commercial, poppy, faux-rocker music will destroy us all.
To be clear - I dislike to whole 'emo' following, it's all a bit embarassing and trendy-but-we-don't-want-to-admit-it, and my god the music is pure tat. It's a far cry from 'proper' rock music. But to dictate how kids can dress & what music they enjoy? Please. What's next....round them up in camps for some 'character washing'?! What about wannabe ganstas strutting about with their arse hanging out of their jeans listening to hip hop, are they any better or worse.
Maybe I'm biased, I have piercings...and am rather pale (naturally of course) damn maybe I should be worried

I knew Robert Smith ans Souxsie Soux (sp) would have a lot to answer for given the fullness of time.

There is a HUGE difference between EMOs and Goths. Don't mix the two. And dont ever call a goth an emo or you will get an earful. Goths hate emos. Trust me, I did that mistake working for a goth club.

Perhaps the Russian authorities' time would be better spent focussed on fighting the prevalence of neo-fascism in their country which seems to me to be a bigger threat than a few gloomy youths knocking about.
