Russell - Ottawa commute
 

Hi, does anyone know what the Russell to Ottawa commute is like?
I am particularly interested in whether the few buses that OC Transpo put for the morning and evening are reliable.

To downtown Ottawa approx an hour and a half by the time you change buses, stops etc etc - 40 mins or so by car.

Remember Russell is in the middle of nowhere.;)

I have friends living out there and in Carlsbad Springs. Dollface's timing on car commute sounds about right - also good that you are on the 417 itself and not coming from Orleans, as traffic is much worse from there.

Bus? I personally wouldn't unless I had to, think it would be a bit miserable. I don't know of commuters from Russell by bus, but as you say, I'm sure people do...

Thanks for your replies. We like Russell because it seems to have more of a community feel to it, but I don't particularly like driving so we'll probably end up somewhere in the sprawling suburbia!
One thing miss here is the commuter train!
