Default Roseanne returns

There's a new series of Roseanne coming up. I always enjoyed the bits after the credits.

The older among us will remember two different Darrins in Bewitched.
Two different actresses played daughter Becky and there are a few 'in-jokes' in the early part of these clips.
And at the end of this episode of Game On they did the same because a different actor took over. I wonder if they just did it as a reference to Roseanne (as Bewitched was before the writer's time) or whether they knew Roseanne also did it.
Watch after the end credits.

I hear she is a Trump supporter in the new series.

Worse, the real Roseanne voted for him. I have doubts about the new series now because the character Roseanne saying something about him would be silly/satirical but maybe not if the real Roseanne agrees. It might be like discovering that Johnny Speight/Warren Mitchell believed the things they had Alf Garnett say.

However, with her background and recent comments about it, it sounds more of an anti Clinton vote.

Either way, having watched that clips collection I'm more in the mood now.

There are a few I never saw as back then so many American sitcoms were rubbish. I caught it one Friday night by accident and had my eyes opened. All those Becky jokes.

I'll watch the reboot as I always liked the original, it was quite popular show during it's original run.

As for the character supporting Trump, makes perfect sense she would. Lanford, IL the fictional town they live in is a working class, blue collar town, which at the time of the original run had some economic difficulties.

The Will & Grace reboot wasn't so bad, but I never cared for the original much, so didn't watch more then a couple episodes.

I used to like Will&Grace, but most programmes wear thin after a while, either because they rely on the same jokes all the time, like W&G, or because they get more and more far-fetched, like Friends. I've never been able to get into Seinfeld.

The second actress "Sara Chalke" was a regular at a juice bar where I used to work in West Van in the mid 90's. That is my claim to fame, serving an 18 year old brat before she became famous.

I didn't start watching Seinfeld until re-runs in the late 90's and early 2000's. I was only 9 or 10 when it first aired and it came on I think at 9:30pm so generally after my bedtime...lol...

Roseanne came on at 8pm, so started watching it more or less from the start.

If only they could rename the show The Connors and kill Roseanne off, I think that could work...

Never liked Roseanne, so not that bothered about her show being cancelled (though it does seem a bit of an over reaction to tweet). What did the Planet of Apes part mean?

Seinfeld was probably my fave sitcom ever. Also have been having a good laugh at Curb Your Enthusiasm clips on YT as have never seen the whole show.

I'm Alan Partridge, The Office, League of Gentlemen, Gavin and Stacey, The Royle Family and Seinfeld (I'd get rid of Jerry himself..terrible actor and his Netfix show Comedians getting coffee is cringeworthy to see how unworldly and entitled he is) would be my top 6 sitcoms. Not sure if everyone would really consider League of Gentlemen as a sitcom or not.

I'm guessing a variation on the old black people=monkey theme.

I think it might be more than this one example.
Barr’s co-star Sara Gilbert, who plays Darlene, condemned the tweets as “abhorrent”. Gilbert wrote: “Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.”
Perhaps those that have to work with her don't want to and their feelings have been taken into account.

.
I thought it might be that theme, but it almost seems too reckless for any celebrity to suggest such a thing, almost beyond comprehension. Not that there's anything wrong with actual apes? I have subsequently heard that her outburst was more than a short tweet, and included a number of derogatory swipes. Anyway, good riddance Roseanne. Who is the woman that Trump despises? Someone like Roseanne, but can't recall. Like on the tip of my mind all evening...
