recci trip to Toronto- areas to live in??

Hi, we are off to Toronto to activate our visas and to have a look round for a place to live. I would like to be within 90 mins of toronto and was thinking about north toronto.
Any suggestions, I currently live in Bristol which is a lovely small city with loads going on. would like something similar, some place with a bit of life and a bit of character. We will probably drive around but just wondered if you had any suggestions.

Cheers
Zida

Play nice dbd: surely anywhere south of Bloor used to be your recommendation?

To the OP; have a look at Unionville, some parts of Richmond Hill, Markham and possibly Woodbridge if you're connected.
