We ended up keeping the flat and buying a detached house (well, bungalow) in Clarkson, 23 mins train ride to Union. It's not like for like with London location, but it was much better bang for your buck.

Now in past 18 months prices have gone crazy here too, but still can't think of anywhere equivalent near London where you can have a detached home with decent outdoor space for close to current Toronto prices.
This is eerily familiar. I started life in NW9 and the first house in Canada was a ranch bungalow at Lorne Park Road and Truscott.

I'm told that the market for houses in Vancouver has now slowed to the point that one can now tour a house for sale without first bidding on it!

It doesn’t say if chickens are allowed?

But the laddered book shelf would be cool to show off.

No land mentioned, it seems to be just a suburban house with a rural style. That's the worst property website though, Rightmove might have a better listing.

I don't support the conservative party but I have to concede that Pierre Poilievre has been absolutely killing it with his speeches in parliament on the housing crisis.

Liberal plan CMHC says 30% should be max to housing, lets just raise it to 50% and presto more people can afford housing now...

Good speech and I generally can't stand conservatives.

And he isn't wrong on how slow things work in Canada for permits, its long been an issue for developers at the glacial speed things move in city's across the country.

Considering the delays and glacial speed the food bank has encountered, I can only imagine what the reality is like for those actually wanting to tear down and build something else.
