It's a tough one. But he failed to follow policy. Rules about chasing someone are very strict, both under provincial legislation and policy. Awful situation all round really.

I think quite a few regulars on here know you are and even yourself have posted what you are. I personally think the new policy is a load of bollox. Having not read the full policy but snippets of it they seem to be saying that a member should not identify themselves as members of that organization as opposed to using your real name.

That's a crazy policy - and surely it's far too late. Still, it probably comes from that guy with the s&m poses in his RCMP boots.

Does the CBSA have something similar?

We have a code of conduct and yes we have had several members disciplined for posting photographs on facebook or other blogs which the Agency feels have brought unwarranted attention and unprofessional behaviour by CBSA members.

Is there something in the water in BC as a lot of RCMP/CBSA less desireable articles originate out of that Province. Weve had the CBSA officers convicted of facilitating the importation of drugs, illegal strip searches etc etc.
as yet no ban on social media sites

As for the nametags issue Ive told my supervisors to order a couple of hundred with my name on it as I have a habit of losing shit like that.

You really are a maverick. I bet you don't take any nonsense from management.

Yup and a lot worse than Ive been called on here. I have a simple philosophy let me do my job and you will get good work from me. Micro manage me or tell me to do stuff that is going against the legislation then expect me to do my job to the letter which causes them more grief.
The older supervisors leave me alone its the new ones who want to climb the corporate ladder that are the problem and usually have had no front line experience and want to change the world.
