we found the most beautiful rainforest~ just a hop skip and a jump from our front door~....i couldnt' be happier ...reminds me so much of my beloved aussie land~
RAINFORESTS OF THE WORLD
There are many definitions. In ecological terms, rainforests have been defined as "multi-storied closed, broad leaved forest vegetation with a continuous tree canopy of variable height and with characteristic diversity of species and life forms". Tropical rainforests in particular possess an astonishing array of flora and fauna. In fact, at least half of the Earth's species are found in rainforests.

Rainforests have evolved over millions of years. They are so amazing and beautiful.

What Are Rainforests Like?
Tropical and temperate rainforests share certain characteristics. For example, most trees flare at the base. Vegetation is dense, tall and very green. Many species exist in both rainforests, although the diversity is greater in the tropical rainforest.


What Makes a Rainforest Special?
The rainforests are home to half of the Earth's plantand animal species

i love the rainforests~ i used to live in a very tropical part of Australia~ now if i could just get a golden beach here with rolling waves into the shore i would be right at home.:lol:

You need to get out to Pacific Rim National Park and Long Beach on the west coast of the island between Ucluelet and Tofino. ;):):)

doesnt' this wonderful land of ice and snow have so much to offer...such a diverse country!...from...snow and freezing temps..to hot summers...huge rocky mountains...to sweeping flat low plains....flowing rivers..to vast huge lakes...towering cities...wild wilderness.....coastal regions....shells...whales...rainy rainforests..bears~wolves~..etc..etc...the list seems endless!:thumbsup:
