Quebec City Mosque Attack
Stupidly I've no link. I just want to talk with people about this as I'm deeply upset by it.
I know that there are shitty, stupid, foul, ignorant, racists in Canada but I never considered something like this happening.

On the news there was an unconfirmed report that one of the accused is of Moroccan descent. Maybe the law can wring some sort of explanation out of them.

I took a look at the mosque on the corner, all quiet and normal. My neighbourhood has all kinds of churches, ashrams, meeting places of many faiths and it makes me sick at heart to think that my new neighbours will have to consider getting security cameras and doors to feel safe.

I find it deeply upsetting as well. People in their house of worship should feel safe. I find it very troubling that this kind of hate has happened anywhere, but in a place where people were praying is beyond horrible.

The mosque had already been targeted - a pig'd head was left on the doorstep & anti-Islam propaganda has been distributed in the area.
As my son pointed out last night, racial tension is surprisingly (to us) high here, some of it very openly so

That mosque is very close to where my son lives.
I'd have expected something like this happen somewhere in Canada but not there.

Have the shooters been identified?
Name & shame.
If the are Canadian citizens, then lock them up without trial & throw away the key.
If they are PR's, then deportation within 24 hours
on the CBC news website - c&p'd

If charged then they need to be afforded a trial and legal representation and due process under the law needs to be followed.
How would deportation within 24 hours work if a PR?
lets sit back take a breath and wait for more details before getting caught up in all of the speculation as evidenced by the comments in this article on the shooting

OK, if that is Canadian judicial process if the shooters are PR's only
Charge them with murder then put them on a plane within 24 hours.
No trial, just a court apperance, 'you are charged with murdering & causing bodily harm with the intent to murder xxx people'
If they are not Canadian citizens how long under the current Canadian legal system do you reckon it will be before they are deported?
If this 'shooting & killing people' happened in one of the muslim countries, I suspect the arrested shooters would have their heads chopped off real quick.
An 'Eye for an eye', eh, why not
