You arranged things in such a way that OH would be left behind to sell house, car, deliver dogs to airport?

How did you manage that?

Just kidding. Karma sent as a virtual shot in the arm.

It's only Canada you're moving to, not Iraq. Don't panic.

Wow - so on one hand you get to leave all those stresses behind and on the other hand you get to have some real first experiences and get all knowledgable before your OH follows!

I found the house, car and everything selling bit quite a stress at home and this side not nearly as difficult.

We came over together without a house or jobs....... me, OH and our two cats! Straight to a hotel........... we did not know anyone here.......... and I only booked the hotel for 2 weeks............ so on day 14............ we moved into our rental house........... when you land here it's all go but in a good way!

Good on ya , it's usually the ladies who are left behind to sort the house sale etc.

Good luck to both you and your OH

Good luck for Saturday as recent Canadian newbies I wont kid you that it is awful hard leaving but awfully worth it when you get here, look on the bright side you'll have lots of making up for lost time when OH gets here:eek::eek:

Good luck Sharon, hope the journey goes well..I know you will be sad leaving your dogs (not sure about OH!!!), we brought our boxer (and the cat) over from the UK with us (I was worried sick enough eben though I flew on the same flight as the pets - lots of turbulence - but it worked out fine). You'll get lots of kissylicks when they finally catch up with you over here in due course. Hope it all goes well!

Re: Pre move wobble

My OH wants us to do the same when our move (finally) happens, i.e. for me to go ahead with the children and he to stay behind to sort out house rental/sale etc. I must be a control freak because I find that really hard to envision... in some ways I want to be here for tidying up all the loose ends.

Others who have trodden this same path tell me there comes a moment when you say "Stuff it" and just close the chapter off in your mind. That frees you to relax, pour yourself a glass of bubbly and toast to the new life. Best of luck for Saturday.

It's the bloody leaving do's that have caused me to wobble, thats now pure panic!!!

I know I'm doing the right thing, I'm certain that it will work out in the end, but everything just seems so up in the air. I'd be better if I knew the car and house had been sold, and that Al had a definate date for moving.

I'm in a panic

I'm on the next 3 nights so in case I don't get the chance after THE VERY BEST OF LUCK (although you'll not need it - you'll do great over there).

Your very brave going on your own initially. Keep in touch with BE and let us know how it all goes. Hopefully we will meet you on the other side at some point.

Best wishes

I'm staying in a families basement so at least I won't be on my own, I'm just realising how much I'll miss Al & my babies (Bully & Tiah my dogs).

It's all the bloody goodbye's, it's nice to know we'll be missed but it makes leaving difficult. Right off to stop moping and pull myself together or get some doggy cuddles and pancakes

WOW good for you girl.

We nearly had to seperate- house sales etc. In the end we didn't but it became very rushed at the end. We ended up with FOUR leaving do's, and that was the most stressful bit; all thoses goodbyes and tears.

I really thought I would be a wreck on the plane; but once in the minibus to airport it became an adventure; enjoy the ride.

PS After seven weeks together (hubby not working yet) I think we both need some space!

Sharon these last 3 days will fly and you'll experience every emotion under the sun - but you know what - there's f**k all you can do about it so go with the flow.

Cry when you leave, laugh at good memories and exist on the adrenaline of not sleeping from oooooh probably Thursday night.

You'll be so excited to be there you won't know what hit you!

When you get there pm me and i'll come over to Calgary and get you and take you out with some of the guys for a good old Drumheller knees up!

We're having a house warming on 23rd Feb so you can come to that
