So my current employer (manager) comes in today and says 'I noticed you have been spending a lot of time on this forum, British Expats...'

Do these IT Policies have anything to do with marmite being banned in Canada? If not then this thread is entirely out of fashion I am afraid.

Back in college they used to block all sorts of stuff...and give you hassle if you were using sites that weren't for your education or study.
So we just left our home PCs on, remote desktop'd in, and used that instead.
Much mirth ensued when we realized a derived trick could be used to view other machines in the college itself. Cue lots of mostly harmless "moving the mouse" and "opening the CD drive tray" of a guy sitting filling out some assignment in a different building.

They probably aren't doing too much cos I leave soon, doubt many other people use BE here at this particular office
