Pierre Poilievre
Watched some of his YouTubes. Quite the populist with a some Canadian economic austerity lined up if he wins.
Thoughts? |

I think he's good at what he does, but only because the opposition is just so incredibly weak. Trudeau seems nothing like what he was in 2015, his youthful energy is gone, and is now just transparently working for the benefit of large corporations at this point. Jagmeet Singh spends his time virtue signaling with woke Marxist politics that don't do anything to improve the average person's quality of life. It's no wonder average working class people gravitate to someone like Pierre Poilievre.

He does seem energetic and very good at communicating.
Agree with the analysis of Justin and Jagmeet from earlier postings. |
Re: Pierre Poilievre
I suppose it will come as no surprise to anyone that I view Poilievre as a menace to society and I applaud the people who trek to Mill Street in Manotick to picket his house. I hope they take large lorries and honk big horns at him.

Re: Pierre Poilievre
I quite like his energy and commitment to change, but when I hear his policies I keep thinking, this might not end well. He does seem to have a Trumpian sense of how to lay out his arguments. The "gatekeepers" trope will resonate with many, and linking Justin to inflation gives him some verbal ammunition. A Canadian Boris?

Poilievre is just another far right populist. Think Steven Yaxley-Lennon. |

Pierre is one of the 'folks'. |

I enjoy his content, but ultimately I do agree. Unfortunately the response from the other side is just "he's bad" and it doesn't feel like any effort being made to actually compete with him on his level.

His marching through residential neighbourhoods with the honking yobs is what makes picketing his house acceptable.

Re: Pierre Poilievre
He makes a good opposition leader but would never vote for a party who's leader proudly aligned himself with anti-vaxxers (or more politely, the anti-vax mandates people).
