Overcrowded Britian

I don't know how accurate this is, but it's interesting ...

It's not very accurate. Netherlands for instance has twice the population density of the UK. That's not even taking into account small principalities like San Marino, Monaco and Gibraltar etc that are denser than both, but they're pretty much just cities not lands. Then there's Malta.

Even the text description is wrong as Japan has 873 per square mile, the UK has 673.

It's almost like the Greens and the BNP got together one night and decided to do a youtube video.

They switch from talking about "Britain" to "England" to make their point on density... The video is produced by EFD which should tell you all you need to know about it's intent.

According to wiki

EFD = The group is a coalition of ten political parties – the largest being the United Kingdom Independence Party

OK, fair enough, it's a pile of p**p then :o & I don't want to seem 'immigrantist' coz I am one!! I just thought the idea of a points system & a bit of a shake up was a good one, after all, the ones of us that are here in Canada have had to go through it.

We could do with shipping a lot of "indigenous" British people out and bringing in more immigrants, IMO.

They just need to get their hair cut and pull their trousers up.

From what I remember, there's something like an acre of land for every person in Britain. The government just prohibits Britons from living on most of it.

You only have to look out of the window while flying there to see how underpopulated most of the country is.

I heard a few years ago that almost half the population of the UK (27 million) live within 100 miles of the centre of London.

What's a few years ago? There are certainly more than 54 million in the UK, probably closer to 63 million now.

I think I read somewhere, that if the entire population of the world lived at the same density as NYC, we would take up an area the size of Texas.

Try Manila then , it's about 4 times more densely populated than NY .

See this link for countries by population density :http://www.indexmundi.com/g/r.aspx?v=21000

I said "almost" half! :) .... At the time I think the population was around 58-59 million. That said 27/63 is 43%, which IMO is still "almost half", but in any case the 27 million has increased too as the population has increased.
