Ottawa medical centres

Can anyone recommend a doctor/practice/medical centre in the downtown Ottawa area?

No one seems to be accepting new patients. I know about the walk-in clinics but that wouldn't have been my first choice.

It's not many peoples first choice, but you very often get to see a doctor far quicker i.e. same day at a walk in and can wait a few weeks to see a family doctor.

We are in same boat, you can subscribe to the Ontario Health Care Connect system and they inform you when there is a doctor accepting new patients in your area.

We registered a few weeks ago and have not heard anything. See website below:

http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/ms/he...c/default.aspx

You can also check online for the waiting time at some of the walk-in centres. This is the Appletree medical group website:

http://www.appletreemedicalgroup.com/locations.php

Actually we were told at the Appletree centre we went to that we could register with them if we wanted to.

Walk-ins are not anyone's first choice but sometimes choice is limited. The Appletree clinics are your best bet. I use the one on Slater and Lyon, as do many people from the Dark Side. You are strongly advised to be there before it opens.

Thank you both. Was going to try Elgin but maybe I should go for the Appletree one instead.

The Appletree website is quite good. You can get an idea of wait times at the different clinics. Some are busier than others.
