I am so glad BC dumped all their testing, saves time, saves money, and no expensive fixes just to keep the car on the road, if you have an older car likely to fail that is.

I shouldn't say BC as a whole since it wasn't a province wide test, only lower mainland for the most part.

Resetting the fault code will not fix a problem.

Just like disconnecting the battery on mine didn't get a pass, lol.

ECU's are annoyingly smart, and have a set period of usage before they will allow a code to be shown. So in my case, the test failed because the ECU had not completed a test cycle.

I would love one of the meters mentioned above, as it would let me diagnose the fault instead of paying someone 125 plus tax for the privelage.

Heading to ebay now, lol.

OBDII is 2 full drive cycles I believe.

Not sure how long a cycle is, but ON/OFF/ON/OFF/ON doesn't count :lol:

No it won't fix a serious fault but as I said before most common faults are winter issues rather than actual issues with the intake or injection systems. After a reset and with the warmer weather them faults disappeared until the next -25 temp drop.
