Do you have a stainless steel sink? If so rub your moistened palms on the rounded top edge or anywhere you can get good contact. ;)

Probably vineagr or something. If you don't mind the smell.

Incredible. I proof read that before posting. It shows you shouldn't do that with your own stuff.

Lemon juice
I suspect it just masks the smell though.
I think some people's skin absorbs the smell more than others. I can still smell onion on my hands the nextvday , even after a shower.

I have washed them in the salt paste, gave them a quick listerene rinse, followed by a very nice lemonie hand cream I have - so far so good

I am about to chop tomato's so will rub the knife round them for good measure.

You can actually buy a stainless steel pebble from kitchen shops. Just use it like you would a bar of soap and it removes the smell. It's good for getting rid of garlic fingers.

Does it work on fishy fingers too?

I hadn't heard about stainless steel, thank you!
I usually just rinse straight away with COLD water (mum said use cold, and it seems to work  )

If you slice your onions like the chefs do, then you shouldn't get much juice on your hands anyway ... plus it reduces teary eyes.

I don't normally want to chop mine so fine, so make wider-spaced longitudinal cuts and/or less horizontal ones ...

Plug your nose and breath through your mouth, stop smelling your hands.
