Good to know the happy ending, but this has reinforced my view that those motorized toy truck things are a distinctly bad idea - despite the fact that this one seems to double as a liferaft. I heard the story on CBC radio yesterday evening, and it appears the kid opened the door of the trailer by himself, snuck out, got on his truck and drove away while the rest of the family was asleep. Adventurous little chap...

It would appear that in future a battery disconnect of some sort should be the norm.

Ah, but then he would have drowned when he went in the river:sneaky:...My three year olds trike seems to weight about 60lbs...but maybe thats just what it seems like when I end up carrying both her and the trike back from the "ice cream shop"...

but if it hadn't floated in the first place, it would have stayed where it was in a couple of inches of water at the edge of the river and he could have got off and walked back to shore - perhaps.
