'Alberta is a big province, so whereas there is hardly any snow in the south in the winter, there is plenty of opportunity in the north for skiing, snowboarding and skating.

Is this guy for real?

Hardly any snow in the South. Well you can't get much more south than Medicine Hat and we had a shit-load this year. Can anyone get this guys tel number, the next time we have a dump of 19 inch of snow in one night, i'm going to call him and ask him round to shovel the 'hardly any snow' off my drive.

'The cost of living is considerably less than in the UK. Our salaries are comparable or even higher, so anyone who moves over would be able to make money and set some aside.'

Since when?

Does someone making 30,000 GBP in the UK earn $60,000 in Canada?

"Fed up Brits should come to Canada" trumpets front page of Daily Mail

See http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-emigrate.html

I did a double take when I looked at the papers in the shop this morning. If I hadn't already heard we'd been accepted I'd be worried about my place in the queue! I wonder how many hits the CIC website has had today?

More than not unheard of. :cool: add an extra 2 weeks vacation on top of (Y)UK and more fringe benny's too.

And re. the OP's topic....OFGG - more whining, snivelling, chav types. God save us from the flip-flopped M&S loving tea sipping masses.

I must say I'd love to find the considerably cheaper house in Canmore that has that view of the Three Sisters and of course if you did find it then you had better pay for it in full because there is absolutely no way you will find local employment to cover the mortgage!

Yikes. It's funny when you see tramps in wintertime wearing Burb scarves and they think they're so cool and high end with their mini Fi-Fi handbag dog/rat mutations and their three facelifts. It's hilarious. I mean c'mon, I was wearing Burb when it was actually in fashion sweetie, and that was 24 years ago.

I saw a Burberry bikini last week. Well, I glimpsed it. I was kinda ogling at what it (barely) wrapped.

Summertime in the Okanagan. Yay !!!

:thumbsup::cool:

Remember this guy is from Alberta and there to recruit in certain categories and in at least some of these categories this is definately true. For example civil engineering is better paid than the UK.
