I read to a class of 8 year old kids (including my eldest daughter) yesterday as part of Literacy Week. Roald Dahl naturally. Even the kids were impressed by my Received Pronunciation accent.;)

Haha that reminds me of when I used to read Dr Seuss to my boys. We happened to be flying to NS one day on the same flight as our Canadian Realtor and he started reading a book to our six year old. It was unbelievable how much better it rhymed with a Canadian accent. ðŸ¤£

Good to read people saying they wouldn't want to go back to the UK. I agree but some people are so negative about Canada.

I keep remembering what my husband says: we immigrants are exceptional people. We took on the challenge and had the resilience to see it through.

I just did not expect to have the new to Canada butterflies and 'what have we done' feelings, we have lived in Canada for 10 years (in Feb), I know Canada, I'm a Canadian citizen FFS! :)

Thats the thing isn't it? It's a big country and Newfoundland is quite different to BC. (Or anywhere else for that matter.). So being Canadian doesn't automatically mean you can pick up sticks and move thousands of miles away with no problems! Sure you'll overcome them though & look back on this a more bump in the road.
