To me, christmas hasn't arrived until I hear Fairytale of New York.

Culturally, I live in multiple decades at the same time, most of which I wasn't even born in.

I do hope you'll be able to squeeze in the Mrs Brown's Boy's Christmas Day special in order to extend the Michael McIntyre hilarity high...

Essential viewing in our household along with Rick Stein's Secret Traditional Dickens Christmas Feast. Happy times.

Apologies if this has already been posted. In fact, apologies even if it hasn’t. My daughter sings this. It is one of an increasing list of things I blame Canada for.

Don't blame Canada; that accent is all midwest. I'd never heard this until 4 or 5 years ago but I think it's cute and it's great that she still sings it.

One reason I don't recall hearing that when I was a kid was probably because this was being played over and over on the radio. I think until Mariah Carey's belated hit this year, it was the last Christmas song to make #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list. I'm almost sure my sisters got hula hoops around the same time.

If this song doesn't make you all warm and glowy inside...something probably will

This is quite like Christmas though. Cloistered inside your place, eating crap food, drinking too much, watching too much tv and Youtube and your "loved ones" starting to smell like stilton and pork pies.

I consider the season to be on with the first go at rum and eggnog, and while I've seen it in the store already, have not yet pulled the trigger.
