Don't knock yourself. You're one of the most refreshingly honest and balanced people on here too.

I don't really care how you use the NHS. I was actually pointing out that there might be a bill
hopefully and probably there wouldn't be. I believe that the document Siouxie pointed which I actually read might have been superseded and being put into practice as of April this year. If you go back and have a procedure done it might be questioned again regardless of what has been said to you.. But again hopefully not.
Surely if what you are having is so worrying and again it's only conjecture that - it was the treatment I needed after the highest level of cell change possible - then there will be someone specific who you can talk to.. Albeit a nurse practitioner or doctor. I actually think a specially trained nurse practitioner did my procedure for me.. The specialist can exam the pathology results and maybe be able to reassure that BC guidelines are suitable for you rather than just following the set NHS protocol.
Anyway I was just trying to be helpful and save you a trip home. I'm sorry you

On a more practical note whatever you decide, bear in mind that anything you may fly back for has the potential to be cancelled at very short notice. If it's nurse practitioner doing it then the risk is less, if it's a doctor they increase greatly.. But again who knows whether I'm on the right track or not. Not me

So I had an appointment at a specialist clinic this afternoon to talk to a nurse about the test results. She was very helpful and explained why and when certain results need further testing. She explained the reason I didn't get the procedure here but understood how upset and confused I was from the letter that I was sent by the NHS.
I have had another test (the one I had in the UK) today and will need to wait for the results but at least at the moment I feel I have been listened to.
At no point did the two doctors at the walk in clinic understand how I felt or try and explain how things are done in BC.
At least today I feel a bit better and will continue the care out here.

Well that sounds like you're on the right track. Stick with nurses- much better than doctors

Again, I did say not all doctors are this way, and I have one such doctor, there are good ones out there, they can just be hard to find sometimes.
One of good things about this little town is for whatever reason we attract some of the nicest, most patient oriented doctors you could ask for, not sure why.....
