New Years Resolutions 2018

So my plan is to lose weight this year. Lots of it! 🙀

I also want to explore Ontario a little more as I’ve been living here for three years and still haven’t been to many places.

Anybody got any wacky plans for 2018?

I'm going to get to my goal weight, (should hit that by April) continue going to the gym and get at least one of the renovation projects done! Nothing too exciting lol

Get some travel done.

Getting less hopeful of a European thing, so maybe Halifax, Quebec City, Niagara Falls/Toronto (mother in law's never been), perhaps Vancouver coupled with the Rocky Mountaineer....

Renovate the house, drink more cider, go for more drives with the top down.

Joining the Celebrity Croakers Thread of 2018! I've always quite fancied it, but can never remember who's dead or alive these day!

Sounds like a plan...

Why does this need a resolution? You're driving along, there's sun, you drop your top. Planning required, none.

I'm no expert, but you're well on the way from what I've seen.

I am considering re-starting yoga. And painting a lot of window frames.

Not resolutions as such but I plan to learn kite surfing, join a judo club and buy a 36+ ft sail boat. I’d also like to quit my job and start a business, analyzing and targeting data for US political candidates.

I try and drop the top before heading off, saves time ;) The resolution is more about doing it more often.

Travel more (again), specifically:
- sea kayaking trip in Maine (that was first postponed 5 years ago)
- France, Scotland, Ireland, it’s been a while

In general, stop being a hermit/stuck inside my own head/get over myself and be a nicer person.

Re: New Years Resolutions 2018

- Work on improving what I eat and what I buy to eat. Stop buying bread/wraps so when I go to cupboard I don’t gorge on it.

- Continue with my TRX and Kettlebell classes

- Get the other half to start clearing out stuff he doesn’t wear or has holes in it (yes he has clothing items from high school). Do the same at my place in order to move in to one apartment.

Are you confessing to something or have you seen topless driving go unchecked?

My topless days are long past. As it's not illegal for men to bare their nipples it can't be illegal for women to do do. At least in Ontario and BC.

I'm going resolve not to speak to a cradle for as long as possible. I'm hoping I can make it to the end of April.

The weight issue is on my list too....I have put on 22lbs in 7months...if I hadnt been to the gym that would have been even worse! I have always been very strict with my eating and exercise, thats gone out of the window the last few months though!

I dont feel like I can go on a full blown diet until i get some routine and structure back in my life, with out that it makes losing weight even tougher than it normally is. So...im going to start off easy...give up cheese:cry_smile::cry_smile:, and cut carbs.

There are lots of places in Canada I would still like to explore too....one step at a time though.

Re: New Years Resolutions 2018

I started a resolution about six weeks ago which is extending into the new year, so a quasi new year's resolution. I disabled my news feed (was using the Android NEWS app) and have found it very beneficial. The app was getting to good at feeding me articles that intrigued and interested me, and becoming an addictive distraction. Back to a quick peruse of the BBC/Guardian websites once every day or two.

I don’t make NY resolutions but I will continue to exercise regularly as of the last year or two. I have managed to run 30 mins a few days a week using the treadmill so the cold weather is no excuse to slow down

Re: New Years Resolutions 2018

My New Year's Resolution is no lager or white wine in 2018. I don't think I'll be in France or Italy this year so I should be Ok in terms of lager as that it where I have been in an ale free area most recently. Strictly ale and in particular IPA for 2018 for me.

Strictly red as well in 2018.

I have 1 can of beer left in the fridge and once that is gone I'll try and refrain from replenishing it for home consumption until February. That is my version of a dry January. Likely have a pint a week at my favourite go to pub.
