New car suggestions

Re: New car suggestions
I'm a fan of reversing cameras - if used in conjunction with mirrors. On the F150 it was a godsend & the screen was a small one mounted in the rearview mirror. That felt more intuitive than looking at a larger screen in the centre console which is where it is in the Mrs's Rav4.

Re: New car suggestions
Went into the local Mazda dealership a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how horrible their interiors were.
How about a Nissan Juke NISMO or NISMO RS??

I am really hoping that this year I'll be able to drive my Capri, it's on the priority list...I quite fancy a Solstice, but they are few and far between and not that convenient now we have 2 doggies.

That would have their ears flapping in the breeze! A bit tight space wise for them, it would be a touch cosy!

After the kids thought we were actually going to win the Jeep Renegade in the mcdonalds round the world thingy, I looked for reviews, and they're surprisingly good.
Get the 1.4 turbo for power + economy (I think the 2.4 is for capacity obsessed North Americans) .
Also it's a fiat underneath which may or may not be a bad thing.
Your best bet of course is a second hand saab with a military grade turbo that will cost you a pint and a bag of chips....

The rental car somewhere or other was a Solstice (I just specify "convertible" and take whatever comes). It didn't work because there wasn't room for even squashy bags. We had to settle for a car with a metal folding roof, the weight of which meant glacial progress even downhill.

Speaking of fun hatchback, I quite like the Ford Focus ST. If you do without the bells and whistles it comes in at $30k base. It only comes in 6-speed manual, which doesn't bother me I like manual, but if you want an auto i'd consider the VW Golf GTI as well.

2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI | Hatchback | Volkswagen Canada
The GTI actually comes cheaper than the Focus ST base by about $2k, it comes in manual as well. I like them both. Now, haven't actually gotten a chance to test drive either, but I imagine this is the kind of car i'd like to drive. I'm not a fan of the bigger cars. (dad has an F150, i hate driving it) Mums is the Lincoln version of the Ford Escape, the MKC. It has quite alot of punch and I find it very fun to drive but its an expensive car.

I'd be wary of Mazda if you want to keep it for a while- muttering suggest they may have value-engineered these things to be less durable than Hyundai/Kia. They're certainly fantastic value new.
The Focus seems to be a good bet, hatchback practicality and plenty of go in the sportier versions. The VW has the badge and the bills.
