Nemo

Is this some kind of evil joke? :frown:

Re: Nemo

The name? Yes.

The amount of snow...so-so.

Re: Nemo

Apparently we're only about half way through the storm here and there are already 3 billion tonnes of snow on the yard.

After trying to shovel an exit from the side door I quickly decided "**** this" and headed back in for a beer.

Well, at least the power is still on...

Re: Nemo

This is a weird one. Previously, drifting snow seems to have found its way into our driveway. This time it's reasonably clear...the downside being deep deep snow on the front steps and snow piled up against the door and top step.

And a bloody big plough ridge.

Still, I'm hoping to be able to call Mr Plow tomorrow and have him clear the lot like he did in January for $20.

I cleared the drive 3 times today, I am now putting a snowblower on my Christmas list.
Its DEEP like a wall up each side of the drive now.... I wonder if this is it

It's still at it here. Let me know when it's stopped there, please.

Re: Nemo

By the time he got to this part of the world Nemo was just another snowstorm. 21cm not even worth talking about really. In Eastern NL it changed to freezing rain and rain overnight and into today so I snowblowed last night while the snow was still light. We'll get the wrap around snow later today and overnight. It's winter. It's Newfoundland. Normal business!

Re: Nemo

It's still going strong here, 36 hours after it started.

No idea about total accumulation given the high wind speeds but it must be getting close to 40cm. Where I dug out a path in front of the porch door yesterday evening there's now a three foot high drift.

Well, at least the dogs seem to be enjoying it.

Was still going at 7.00 am, still windy but nothing like yesterday. Stopped soon after.

Had nothing like it in 8 winters here. Probably not the biggest in official figures but easily the worst to deal with. Usually it collects on the steps, going down at a similar angle, but this was pretty much top step level.

Really disheartening shoveling the stuff from the steps only to be going deeper into snow rather than seeing the level drop. And then standing there with the snow waist deep from there across the driveway and to the front where the plowed ridge was even deeper. :(

I stopped there as Mr Plow had said he'd be along lunchtime, so no need to attempt an exit. Leave it to him. :)

Thanks for that. It's only just stopped here. Dog has finally been out for a couple of minutes.

This photo was taken earlier this afternoon, the drift against the porch door that was around 3' deep and extended out 7-8'.

I think I might buy a flame thrower.
