Excuse my techno ignorance, but how can spammers do anything through your blog ? Why would the dodgy site link to it ? Don't really geddit...

Howefamily, depending on your hosting service (I use WordPress for my personal blog) you can edit the privacy. WordPress has "Allow Search Engines," "Discourage Search Engines," and "Private" settings. I get a small amount of spam, but nothing I've found to disrupt any of my activity.
