Update: we finally got the cat to the vet today. It involved putting the soft pet carrier over the top of her and somehow flipping it over without her escaping. Then a 2 hour wait at the vet as we didn't have an appointment. We'd agreed with the vet not to make an appointment, just to bring her in when we could.
She's going to be spayed in mid July when they'll cut her nails properly and de tangle her. We've agreed to try to get her in a couple of days in advance and they'll board her.
