Re: Moved: Premium Bonds ?
Hi
I've looked all through my paperwork and can find nothing, which states that you can't keep them. If you look on the prizewinners list it often refers to people outside of the UK. I would suggest calling them on 0845 964 5000 or emailing them to ask the question. Their address is: [email protected] |

Re: Moved: Premium Bonds ?
Hi, we have changed our premium bonds to our Canadian address and it doesn't seem to be a problem. We also continued playing the pools for the first year or so we was here and had a (small) win! Congratulations Angela on your win by the way.

Re: Moved: Premium Bonds ?
So clearly the only way to win is to have either £30k worth of bonds (not very likely) :thumbup:or emigrate...

Re: Moved: Premium Bonds ?
Last time hubby changed his address he won £50. His parents and his brother also changed addresses at the same time and surprise, surprise they won something too.

Re: Moved: Premium Bonds ?
Presumably you'll have to declare any "winnings" as income when you file your taxes in Canada.

I believe its tax free here in Canada for "Winnings" at gambling.

I checked it out and it is fine to keep them (but not if you go to live in USA for some reason). Just let them have your new address - I know it works as I won 150 pounds last week (can't find a pound sign on this keyboard:confused:) Angela

Out of interest - has anyone seen this Premium Bond Calculator? It is very interesting, it works out your chances of winning depending upon how much you spend and how long you keep them for; it then compares that to how much you should have made if you invested elsewhere :- http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/sav...ds-calculator/ |
