Default Mouse in the house

Discovered we have a mouse in the basement. Dog just slept through me cavorting round trying to catch it. Doubtless if there's one, he's got friends and family too, can anyone recommend where to get a humane mousetrap?

I looked online at Home Depot/Rona etc and they only seem to do the catch and kill variety, and of course, our 13 year old won't hear of anything of the sort.

Thanks.

I hear what you're saying Mrs DV. My husband was all for taking me to Canadian Tire and kitting me out with full camouflage attire and weaponry. Bit drastic in the basement though.

Gaynor now rofl at you - serves you right for laughing at me with my flies

Seriously get yourself to Crappy Tire and get some of those sonic plug in mouse thingys - it will drive the mouse away. And might drive Molly mad too as if she isnt mad enough

Or you could adopt one of our 3 recent rescues that will ready for new homes in about a week, if you can wait that long? They'd soon seek out your mouse...just look at their built in rodent-radar

You might just be lucky - we had one mouse when we moved in, got rid of it and have had no mouse problems since.

However, we do occasionally have a moose loose round the back of our hoose (but he's now my honorary pet marvin!).

We bought a humane multiple mouse trap from Canadian Tire, I think it was about $16. You can also buy the glue sheets(?) but we just put a cookie in the trap.
Good luck!

Got a mouse? You need a Winston. Deadly to all small furry things upto and including rabbits. In fact I confidently expect him to be coming up the drive one morning dragging a bull moose behind him!

Gay - glad you feel you have retribution now for the fly incident. Me chasing Mickey round the basement deserved capturing on video, luckily only me and the sleeping muppet which passes for a dog were home, so no documentary evidence is available.

Thanks for the offer of furry creatures to help us out. I'm not sure a cat's the answer to our problem. My husband has a pathological hatred of cats (no idea why, unfortunate incident when a child?) and would never hear of it. He jokes about (at least I think he's joking), having a dead cat tied to the garden fence as a warning to others who may stray into the yard.

So, he's off to Crappy Tire at lunchtime to invest in a sonic device. Expect it'll turn the dog rabid and the basement will be trashed by our huge mutt diving for cover when I switch it on.

Another day of domestic bliss in the Murray household. Now where's my 12 bore?

If you do end up with one of the "humane " traps , then be very careful where you release it , the buggers can home in for miles. As we found out in the UK.

We choose the slightly more unorthodox , semi naked husband with tupperware box and piece of perspex at 11.30pm approach to catch the one we had.
