More happy news from BBC
UK inflation woe 'set to worsen'
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7400074.stm I wish they would give it a rest. |
Re: More happy news from BBC
Here here - they seem hell bent on reporting every tiny bit of house prices/economy information as a full blown story practically every day....
Not good for those of use with houses for sale.... |
Re: More happy news from BBC
I cringe everytime. I think they and the bloody papers are making things even worse. :curse:

Re: More happy news from BBC
On the other side of the coin, I wouldn't dream of moving back to the UK *until* house prices settle down to a more reasonable level. Compared to what you can get in Canada for almost half the price, there's no competition.

I must admit house prices are stupid nowadays. I feel sorry for first time buyers. :(

Re: More happy news from BBC
I feel angry that in my own country I was basically shut out of ever owning a house, and that was presuming I was earning an average wage (far below it, in fact). If I'd stayed in the UK, I would have been shut out of owning a house for a *very* long time.

Likewise for the majority of first time buyers now.... It's now down to parents to stump up a wedge for a deposit....

No news there, that was the case for me in 1981. It was infeasible to buy a house within the bounds of the North Circular so, being faced with the threat of Watford, I thought I might as well move to the colonies.

It's only likely to be a temporary blip, bottom line is, we have 60+ million people crammed into a little island, so there's always going to be a shortage of housing long term....
