More Cheese Gromit?

I know the subject of 'cheese' comes up often on this forum. So I thought i'd throw it up again when I read about the EU trade deal with concessions to double cheese imports. :)

I just had visitors from OZ staying with me. They reminded me of the time I first arrived here when they came back from the grocery store and asked ... 'What the heck is that orange stuff in the cheese section?' ...

Im tending to think this EU trade deal will face hurdles from the Quebec and Ontario dairy farmers. All provinces have to agree and sign off before the deal is done.
Doubling the import quota doesnt mean cheaper prices.

Yeah ... I'm thinking all that too ...

Just got a bit (prematurely) excited at the prospect of a greater choice of cheese, even if it did come with no cheaper price tags ..:p

My wife and stepkids are Canadian.
They think the "white cheese" I buy is odd.

It is a bit. Cheddar is usually a pale yellow.

I must admit I do miss Cathedral City...they have Cracker Barrel extra strong (white not yellow), which is an ok substitute.
But just not the same as melting Cathedral city on toast...
I get my Mum to bring it out when we get visits from UK...that and proper bacon (presidents choice do a near alternative) ,and Walls sausages...

I can tell its nearly supper time here...my mouth is drooling!!!

Cracker Barrel is a good one....especially when a 400g slab is available for under $5 (sometimes <$4) for much of the time.

A good cheese on toast is very nice, but a half decent one is still nice. Especially with a few dabs of marmite before adding the cheese.

Given the price of something better than Cracker Barrel, I think of it as wasted on toast.
