It sort of happened to me today. I was out running along the seawall in an area where bikes and pedestrians share the same pathway and while I was keeping tight to the side an old bloke on a bike behind me drove into my right arm. I suggested rather politely that he should be a bit more careful and maybe invest in a bell the next I knew he’d got off his bike became quite aggressive. Now, he must have been in a 70s the poor old fellow and I was going to commend him for actually being able to get on a bike in the first place but I thought it might exacerbate the situation. So he then starts yelling incomprehensively at me while jumping up and down, now I really couldn’t help myself but my natural reaction was to start to giggle quite vigorously, which seemed to calm him down a bit. I wanted to suggest he should 'get on his bike' but I didn't think he'd get the joke and again I didn't want to inflame the dispute or cause him to have a heart attack. Finally, as I went to jog on, he rode off. But where's this famed consideration and politeness that seems to be propagated by the wider Canadian society?

Whenever I see these kind of videos - which usually feature cyclists and taxi drivers - I am always surprised at the willingness of people to get in a punch up when it is clear neither of them has any idea what they are doing. I am not talking about pro fighter ability, but just the basics. I suppose there must be videos around of someone starting a punch up and getting knocked out/down with one punch.
