Missing, presumed kidnapped

Amber alert: The search for Nathan O'Brien and his grandparents

Well you know, it was a big garage sale, someone got carried away and accidentally took them too...

I keep wondering whether the murders of the couple in Lake Bonavista recently are connected.

This is certainly a weird one, and Calgary Police are giving away very little. I'm usually pretty good at reading between the lines but....

Alvin Liknes's daughter was an employee of mine for a long time, it's a terrible situation for her.

Hope the family are not expecting any countries border services to check as several posters have stated in a previous thread that there is no legal requirement to carry letters of consent or do the rules change because of this incident?

The police said originally that they had evidence that the grandparents and child left the house unwillingly, their cars were left at the house as well.
Very mysterious.
I hope there is a happy ending for the family.

What a strange situation and heartbreaking for the parents.

There was one of the articles that said there was drag marks I think on the drive which indicates foul play. Such a weird one tho - kidnapping 3 people if that's what has happened.

Hope they all return safely.

I read as well that there was evidence of drag marks. All they are really saying is that there are indications that they did not willingly leave the house.

I really hope this all gets resolved soon, but I don't have a very good feeling about this one. :(

My thoughts too. Tragic. Absolutely tragic. That lady has potentially lost her son and her parents in one go. No words.

None the wiser on this story, has there been any evidence of fatalities at this stage? Some of the comments on here seem a bit speculative?

The short version:

-Grandparents had an estate sale on Saturday. They are moving in the short term to Edmonton, then ultimately looking to move to Mexico.

-Parents dropped off 5 year old Nathan at the grandparents' place on Sunday evening for a sleepover.

-Mom went by the house to pick up Nathan on Monday morning. She found the house empty, both cars in the driveway. Nathan and both grandparents missing.

-There was evidence in the house that there had been signs of a struggle, including what looked like drag marks outside the house.

-An Amber Alert has been in place since Monday.

-Police are not sure if the estate sale is related to the abduction. They are trying to piece together what happened but it doesn't sound like there is much to go on. There are currently no named suspects.

-Latest development is that police are seeking a pick-up truck and its driver - Calgary police looking for pickup truck in Amber Alert investigation into missing boy, grandparents | National Post

oh get over yourself and don't be so petty, an Amber alert has been posted, there is a blindingly obvious difference.

Looks like a violent crime happened inside the house and 1 or more people might be in medical distress according to police.
