Media Streaming Devices

Anyone know if it's possible to stream live TV from the internet using these players?

Most of them seem to be in use if previous posts are anything to go by.

I use Amazon Fire stick to stream live BBC in the UK. It probably works on other channels too, depends on what the channel offers rather than the stick.

I use Roku 3 boxes and UnoTelly to stream BBC iPlayer, 4OD, 5, ITV Player to televisions in HD. Our 25meg connection and a good wifi router ensure no lag or freezing.

Register your Roku on their UK website, not the Canadian one.

If you get a Roku, make sure you buy one that is available in the UK (Roku 2 or 3), as the software for the other ones that are sold in Canada will not 'get' UK channels.

Roku 1 used to work, but doesn't seem to be very well supported now.

Roku 3 is sold at BestBuy (stock is variable) at proper price. They are sold for silly money on eBay etc.
