Personally - if time / money & inclination allow - a trip to Grand Canyon is great.

I'll second that, although it does make it a long day (five hours each way).

We did the bus trip to the south rim last time we were there. Took lots of pictures got home and no pictures. The memory card was corrupt. :(

We're going back mid-March and another trip to the rim is planned with an overnight stay.

Going by some of your photos on here, they should be great.

I found it was a true 'take my breath away view' - which given my cynical tendancies is something.

Was there in April (6/7 yrs ago ish), so with snow & no crowds. Went walking round the rim in a white out - then all of a sudden the sky clears.

I think a flight from vegas is available - at cost of course.

hahaha then the frugal side of me will reappear ;) packed lunch anyone?

What we will spend out there for 4 days will be what we would have spent on things here so I justify it like that.

AND I NEED A GODDAM HOLIDAY SO THERE

I can see you now at the breakfast buffet making sandwiches to sneak out!:rofl::thumbup:

If you can arrange it, stay in a cabin on the rim. We did that before one of the hikes into the canyon and the view at dawn was amazing.

I took some clients on that trip, from Vegas, and then in the helicopter into the canyon just outside the park. Nice day out and cheaper per head than dinner in Vegas. A client from England asked my daughter if she shouldn't have a "wooly jumper" in case it was cool on the rim. In August.

Bit late on this thread but.........knew your run of bad luck would have to change sooner rather than later and what a way for it to change. Very excited for you. Your organiser's hat will now be on to make it all go as smoothly as Mandymoochops can make it.........in other words.......I just know there'll be some great stories out of this event! Please keep us up to date won't you?

Best wishes x
