lotto 6/49 thickie question

Okay so I went shopping Weds and bought a $5 ticket, I got 2 lines of numbers (of which I didn't win a bean) but whats the 'extra' line for (line of 7 numbers under the normal ones)?

Looked on the rules and can't find what these are or what you do with them(just in case i'm a closet millionaire as you never know :thumbsup:)

Hiya, go to a store that sells lottery, they usually have a machine that you can put the ticket in and it checks it for you. saves you the hassel of finding out how it all works.

And if you're lucky and you've got a winning ticket, the cashier won't try and keep it for themselves and tell you it's worthless. :) Seriously though, I think all terminals have been upgraded to ensure that doesn't happen anymore.

The extra line is "Encore".

6/49 is $2 a line for the 6 numbers and works like the UK lotery as far as I remember. ENcore is a tack on game that is a buck, its basically a second chance

Encore top prize is $1M and you win by matching the first or last number or something?

The "winner switch" thing is harder to do now you HAVE to sign your ticket to play.

you get to check it yourself on the terminal, these are usually at the checkout.

We are always surprised at the amount of free goes we get - especially when we check the numbers and don't seemto have a winning ticket, there must be a rule that we haven't read, but we do make sure the tickets get checked just in case!

As for the Extra, that just confuses us too!

Remember that you don't have to buy the Encore (Extra in QC) if you don't want it. I always do because I usually win, even if it's just a free ticket.
