The 2012 logo is rubbish, but these mascots are so freaky they are cool. They seem designed to provoke reactionaries and given the comments I've seen in various places, I'd say job done.

Edit: I'm also glad that they didn't play it safe with some cute cuddly toy like every other olympics.

My class teacher showed our year 1 children the video about the mascots and how they came to be. Apparantly they are aimed at under tens and the video was quite good.

The verdict - the children, aged 5 - 6 years loved them as did the teacher, early 40s. The teaching assistant 61 years wasn't as impressed!:lol:

I suppose they have impressed their target market so they have achieved their objective, looks like they will make a fortune in sales on merchandise if our class are anything to go by!

I liked the video too, but then I'm a bit of a softie!;)

The video does explain a lot - but when you just see them with no explanation it is a bit scary!!

Also they look considerably better in the vid!
