I think there is a valid position in arguing that modern day professional soldiers are aware of the risks that they face and yet they sign up to do a job, therefore its just a workplace hazard. Arguing that all soldiers are just there cos they like to shoot others is going beyond that, pushing the boundaries of good taste and reason for sure, but is probably not breaking any rules here. Is it trolling, posting to provoke an outraged response? Its close, that's for sure.

Calling someone a tit cos you dont like their position on a subject however is bordering on abusive posting, which is against the rules;)

Iaink - apologies for calling him a bad name, although, had I not been a semi-lady, it would have been much worse;). Surely suggesting his posts are Trolley, is also a bit naughty?

Its the Daily Mail, I'd be surprised if the majority of comments are not proper mental!

I figured you were holding back. Unfortunately as the moderator sometimes its my job to decide what's trolley and what isnt...

Debate is good, Abuse is bad, Posting just to get a rise is bad, rising to the bait too is not good, it just encourages more nonsense. Big grey areas in the middle...

We all rise to the bait from time to time, I think I do not bad on here and behave on the whole. Can I just say that he is disrespectful then?

Actually - it's too easy to wind people up in this thread; a bit like kicking a puppy. I think I shall concentrate on more cerebral trolling.

History repeating itself innit. Turns out its the same thread as last year, or the year before, or was it the year before that...

There are some topics we never tire of. Witness the 30 page 'why do you want to go to Canada thread'.

I think I'll refrain from repeating my controversial "olympic class synchronized knee jerking" remark from last year's thread.

That's a very interesting question. The local takeaway went out of business for a while, (not enough brits around here I suppose), but it's re-opened under new management and with a new chef.

The onion kulcha and the samosas are a great deal better; OH enjoyed her butter chicken and my kahari beef was really quite acceptable.

Thanks for asking.

Vicarious curry eating.

Can you have lamb next week, maybe a rogan josh?? I quite like sag paneer too. No samosas for me though. Maybe a pakora or onion bhajee?

There's a photo on the slideshow we have going on the plasma screen in our office of a curry I had on a conference in Manchester in the summer. I positively weep every time I see it.

This is problematic. That last lot had all these things, but now the best we can offer is Kahari Ghost. Onion Bhaji and pakora are still available.

Why don't you pop round some Friday?

It had the effect that you would often only expect from a particularly nasty Vindaloo.

I'll take your word for it. Started trolling on this thread myself, but realized that it was ultimately a hollow experience and I was just doing it because I could rather than because it was funny.
