Leftie or Rightie

Spotted this on Sky News website and thought I would poll it.

Me, I am a leftie, as is one of my sons. My mum, dad and brother are all lefties  hey! the cool thumbs up smiley is also left-handed

My OH and I are both Left handed but I don't think we are what you'd call high achievers:blink: Both our kids are right handed but I'm trying my best to beat it out of them:sneaky:

I am a female leftie. According to the article most left handers are male.

***sigh***

As with most areas of my life, I go against the norm

from Wiki:

Although ambidexterity is rare, ambidextrous people may still gravitate towards performing certain types of tasks with a specific hand. The degree of versatility with each hand is generally the qualitative factor in determining a person's ambidexterity.

Oooh, maybe I am too then because I use scissors with my right hand (no leftie scissors back in my schooldays).

One thing not so good about left-hand writing is, unless you write up and over, we all smudge our print and get blackened hands

Born left-handed but forced to write with right-hand as a child and can't change now.

Strangely enough I can do mirror writing with my left hand.

Clever Madmac

I haven't tried mirror writing (now scurries off for a pencil and paper) but I nearly came to a sad demise when I tried to trim my fringe whilst looking in the mirror

Tis a bit. Was he forced as a child to use the right hand for writing?

Seems to be something about being a child of a witch or the Devil or other religious quackery.

Yep bit of a mirror writer myself, definitely a lefty.

I remember struggling with being a lefty as a child and can clearly remember writing a small essay with my left hand, but starting from the right hand of the page and then finishing on the left. I have a clear recollection of an adult being impressed. I was never sure why.

I do have ambidextrous tendencies, can write with both hands, but on the whole my right hand is my strongest. Play golf with right handed clubs and tennis. I guess I am a little bit messed up.

I should have been a lefty but my grandad had had such a hard time he forced me to be a righty - but now I always open things, play sports etc predominatly with my left - BUT cant write with left!

It is totally ****ed up, I remember never really being pressured either way, but do remember thinking I wasnt quiet doing the correct thing going against the grain. I also remember thinking it was way easier for the righties because of the way the world worked, with note pads, cheque books etc, etc.

My husband is a definitely lefty and has a dominant left side, and interestingly enough will only stick to his left with sports, and finds that his left is his strongest side.

Me, I write with my left and do most other things with my right. Isnt is scary what societal pressures dictate.

My pen to paper skills are not good with either hand.

Yeah....... I hear you its messed up. Its a tough one. Some times I think it would be interesting to conduct a study of lefties, from birth to maturity just to see how they develope without any outside influences.

Who says the scriptive world should be from left to right? And why are lefties in the minority?

......just ignore me I think way too much. I'll get my coat.:o

I am left handed, always have been and never had anyone attempt to change it.

I can't ever recall having any issues from being a lefty.
