Landed in NS and container delivered
:)
Hi there We had a smooth landing on 1st April and our container was delivered yesterday. We packed ourselves and everything arrived perfectly. We are just settling in and enjoying having our own belongings around us. Good luck to all those still waiting Claire600 |

We were minimalist and now we are MAX :) We packed ourselves and could only get total loss insurance ... when we opened the doors and saw everything where we had left it, it was a huge relief.

Just out of interest- how long did it take for your container to arrive? We are packing up in 2 weeks time.... exciting!!! All the waiting is nearly over!
Is there anything that you wish you had of brought over with you to NS? Have fun and good luck to you. Kim x |

Hi There
It takes around 12-18 days. One week at sea and the rest depends on the day the ship sails and how quickly the truck company can get it to you once it's arrived and cleared. You can track the ship on line too ;) We sold the stuff that wouldn't work or gave it to family. We got rid of anything we really didn't want any more but we shipped everything else, bed, sofas, bikes, toys from childhood. The only thing we couldn't bring was Matt's motorbike as it is nearly impossible to import a new bike. But we bought our crash helmets and clothing as they are expensive here and ours were new. I did not ship food or the home made wine - but we shipped our wine/beer making equipment.... Are you packing yourselves? Good luck with the move Claire |

I think it is something I just may enjoy! Something else to look forward to! |
Re: Landed in NS and container delivered
The wine making kits range form $50-$130 dollars and they make 30 bottles of wine. We had great success with Pino Grigio and we also made Elderflower, Rhubarb and Fig wine from scratch ... We made Chablis Blush from a kit and that was good.
It is straight forward and the kits are a lot more successful that 20 years ago It fun tasting ;) We tried to make Cider from a kit that was not good ... but we have been told we will be able to buy apple juice from a $1 a litre from farmers and that makes great cider Have fun Claire |

Hi there
We are near Windsor and our local wine making store is in New Minas. The guy there was really helpful and they are the best people to recommend the most popular kits. We made some fruit wines from scratch using an old wine making recipe book I bought from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Steps-...9844859&sr=1-1 We are slowly unpacking - felt very weird having our belongings here ... it is all sinking in and we had a bit of a quiet sad day yesterday. Today the sun has been shining and we are much happier :) Good Luck - Maybe we could start a wine making thread ..... Claire |

Claire Since coming here we have used this company: http://winekitz.com/index.php?id=23&content=Locations All you have to do is stir in the yeast (to keep things legal) and they look after it till they ring you to come to bottle it. Suppose we must have got lazy though - go to the offy now! |
