Re: Kitchen cabinets - advice needed (installation)
I bought an 8" multi-speed bench top drill press from The Tire on sale for $39 a couple of years ago. It does all I need it to do. Just don't waste money on junk drill bits, especially if you dill metal. I refurbish Dinkys and it does a great job drilling out the rivets.
I've got all the bits. Hole saws, Fostner bit and a hole cutter. I used the last one when I made my wine rack. I will not use it freehand again. Ever. Ever.
No, really, not ever.
In true Souv tradition, I stapled my finger this morning. I suspect I may be walking proof that Darwin got it a bit wrong.

I don't buy cheap toys any more. I have learned not to.

I have the necessary Forstner for Blum cup hinges. I don't have a press yet (I won't buy cheap tools either). So I use it freehand with an alignment guide. I've got away with it so far, but getting the depth right is a bit dodgy.

The depth is slightly more important than the radius. Just a bit
You can always driil more. You can't drill less.
