I don't buy cheap toys any more. I have learned not to.

I've got all the bits. Hole saws, Fostner bit and a hole cutter. I used the last one when I made my wine rack. I will not use it freehand again. Ever. Ever.

No, really, not ever.

In true Souv tradition, I stapled my finger this morning. I suspect I may be walking proof that Darwin got it a bit wrong.

Your post made me cross my legs. I'll try crossing my nipples later.

I have the necessary Forstner for Blum cup hinges. I don't have a press yet (I won't buy cheap tools either). So I use it freehand with an alignment guide. I've got away with it so far, but getting the depth right is a bit dodgy.

Take your time. On 3/4" wood the top of the Forstner should about 1/8 proud.

The depth is slightly more important than the radius. Just a bit

You can always driil more. You can't drill less.

On the last hole of one door I was close/no cigar on the depth... I quit while I was ahead and finished with a Dremel.
