Poor guy, all he wanted was a hug.

Women’s Lacrosse Team Noticed Why They Had Such An Advantage
The 2019 Women’s Lacrosse Under 19 World Championships just took place in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The Israeli team played Kenya on August 6th in the second round and defeated them 13-4. But something was amiss. Each and every member of the Israeli team was…hurt….would be the most apt word…that their Kenyan opponents didn’t have adequate footgear.

I guess everybody who has hitch-hiked, has experienced the kindness of strangers... My wife and I reminisce from time to time about our experiences backpacking throughout the Middle East fifty-odd years ago, and the many random acts of kindness we encountered during the three months we hitched and bussed from Ankara out to Iran and back via Egypt, "travelling poor" the whole time. BE rules won't allow me to link to any of the entries in my personal blog-journal, but here is a brief extract reporting one of the most memorable events - and certainly the most embarrassing!

"...In a run-down town halfway to Mount Ararat we were intercepted in the street on a cold night while looking for a cheap hotel, and pressed to stay in a private home. The small children were woken up and brought to meet us, and we slept in a bed still warm from their bodies. (Some things you just can’t argue about.)..."

Based on that three-month adventure I can say that in general, in our lives, we've found poor people to be much more generous than rich people.

This 30-year-old man with special needs was found walking alone. And when cops asked him who they could call, he only remembered one name: his junior high teacher. Now that teacher is taking him in.
