Kevin O'Leary

Yes, I caught the exaggeration on Brador. Nobody drinks Brador for the taste.
I think he grew up in Montreal, but at some point moved to Ottawa. Not sure if a 12 year old could get a job at an ice cream parlour but who knows. The bemused looks of the current owners of the former ice cream parlour location in that youtube clip kill me.

I think if a nominal Canadian with no relevant skills is to be elected, I'd prefer Celine Dion or Pamela Anderson. This fellow's claim to self importance is that he's made some money; well so have they and one can even sing.

On a television interview, O'Leary claimed that he supports LGBTQ rights, same-sex marriage, pro-choice, and legalization of marijuana among other things... he does realize which party he's running to be the leader of, right?

Re: Kevin O'Leary
Is the choice going to be him or Kelly Leitch?
We're doomed I tell you, doomed.

Re: Kevin O'Leary
If it were either, I personally doubt they'd get elected. Canadians seem to have been done with our version of conservatism under Mr Harper & in the face of Trump and rising right wing politicians elsewhere I think that we'll stay with Liberalism and PM Selfie.

So u are the one that voted Liberal, I knew some one did, the start of recovery is just getting them to admit it.

Unfortunately, the candidate came door-stepping and managed to insult both me and my missus. I didn't vote for him (or indeed anyone else).
The git won anyway (and he's not even from QC).

The only canvasser who came to our door was the NDP candidate. I was impressed at his dedication as I should think that, in farm country, he'd usually be greeted by waving firearms and called dogs.

I have a friend who has met him a couple of times. I asked him, is he such a prick in real life? Answer: even more so.

No one came to our door but I voted Liberal to get rid of Harper.

Nobody comes to apartment doors, and I can't vote, but if I could it would not be Liberal or Conservative.

Re: Kevin O'Leary
Well it looks like Kevin got Wynne to respond to him and then he responds in kind via social media and the Huffington Post in his latest letter
Dear Premier Wynne: I Would Have Fired You Long Ago | Kevin O'Leary
Take away all partisan politics do you think Kevin is somewhat correct in his reply?

I dont think many people were a huge fan of Harper, however personally if it was a choice between him and Trudeau it was a no brainer. If it aint broke dont fix it.....
Canada will look pretty broken after Captain selfie has finished his term.

Re: Kevin O'Leary
I can't decide how I feel about O'Leary. Yes, he's an ass and he's brash and rude and honestly a d*ck... and yeah, the sale of TLC to Mattel was one of the absolute worst business deals ever and he profited from it... but he's still pretty smart when it comes to business, and it's hard to argue with someone who wants to reduce government waste. He's right to call Wynne out in that letter, and he's right, if she were a CEO she'd have been sacked a long time ago. But I don't know, it all feels very Trump... and that makes me uneasy. So I have no idea what to make of him.
I have a feeling the next federal election I'll end up just reading the platforms of the people running in my riding and voting for the one I like the most based on what they want to do more locally. That's what I did in the last election because I couldn't decide what to do on a larger scale.
Ugh.
