Now were cooking in gas, bitburger and DAB particularly. Just need to find a nice bench in Stanley park and some canadian abuse to hurl randomly.

You could do worse than just waling round the West End and phoning/calling in at any apartments that have a For Rent sign. It is probably a good idea to leave the beer until after you finish flat hunting.

A beer that I always enjoyed when passing through Guncouver is the Granville Island Honey Lager.

Other than that tread carefully with the micro brewery stuff, as is the same across most of Canada, it is hit and miss! An evening can be made or broken on the experience.
