Jaffa Cakes
I was in Food Basics this weekend when I spotted "Delicje" european biscuits (blue packet) - they are identical to Jaffa Cakes but have apricot or raspberry jelly instead of orange.
There are 10 "jaffa's" to each box - and cost $1 ! Yum ;) |
Re: Jaffa Cakes
OOhhh my kids will be pleased.

Re: Jaffa Cakes
I've gone one better - the MIL is sending them over from the UK
One technical hitch - she send them 2 weeks ago and the damn things are stuck in a Canada Post office somewhere  |

Re: Jaffa Cakes
My husband really likes Jaffa cakes too! Sometimes he can eat two or three packets in an afternoon!
And my mother once told my husband that if you eat enough Jaffa Cakes, it makes your semen taste different - needless to say he wanted to know if it was true! :o And no I don't want to know how my mother knew  |

Re: Jaffa Cakes
There's a fantastic european supermarket called Santa Barbara Market on Commercial Drive in Vancouver that also sells them:
The apricot ones are really nice, I actually prefer them to jaffa cakes! http://i53.tinypic.com/6f70o4.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/s3ls2d.jpg They do a whole bunch of other nice stuff too, like blackcurrent juice. Much tarter and stronger than ribena though, but a bit of water and sugar and it tastes around the same. A lot cheaper than imported ribena though. http://i52.tinypic.com/14jux6p.jpg |
Re: Jaffa Cakes
I love Santa Barbara - do most of my shopping there :)
My rents just arrived from uk - with a 36 box of jaffas and a big squeezy marmite -- -oooh and a box heroes - they are now long gone . . |
