-29 this morning in Regina, (7 below normal temp) but the box says Ottawa is only 2 degrees warmer so that must be significantly below their norm. It can get much much colder (I think Winnipeg got the worst of this system over the past 4 or so days). A warming trend is on the way so with luck Ontario could get better too.

Yes, it's -28 here now, with a Government windchill warning of -35 to -45 and I don't intend to stick my head out to find out what it feels like. Its a bit dispiriting.

-19.5C on the car thermometer this morning. The worst I've seen is -35C so it's nowhere near a record. Chilly though, I might wear a hat tomorrow.

Worst start to winter in the 7 years we have been here. Already had our driveway ploughed x4 in the space of 10 days. I think it's going to be a long hard winter this year

Ski pants are the answer, and all the other stuff. When it's below about -23 I don't want to get cold while scraping and warming the van up, driving to work so I just put them on. Dressed up and with a scarf I can walk around in -44 and not be too cold. For the climate of a distant planet we dress like spacemen.

Today I wish NB were a distant planet! I'm not bad with the kit, I've got the ski stuff, and for Christmas something call Heat Generating underwear...so that should be an experience the problem is your face...and glasses. I'm warm as toast, but if I swathe my face, my glasses steam up....I can't see without my glasses.

Millie when you go to a big drug store ask for the stuff you coat your lenses with. It's a hassle but it works. Should either be a spray or sort of waxy stuff like lip balm. Any optician should have it too.

-16C here this morning and -28C or so with the windchill. Not exceptional for you mainlanders but about as cold as it's ever got in my 9 years in Newfoundland. Chilly and bright and a shock after a relatively balmy month in the UK.

Lots of snow too. 112cm fallen so far this year with another 25-35cm forecast tomorrow into Saturday. Thats way more than this time last year. Probably by raining next week though.

-13C...our thermometer is located on a sheltered balcony...therefore it is probably several degrees colder. Light snow overnight.

Warmer than it has been @ just -32c (windchill of -38) in the peg.
Might even venture outside today

Yes that is a problem. I tried one of those ski mask things with just eyeholes. A bit too tight over glasses and too restrictive vision on the bike. Not that I cycle when it's colder than 20 below.

Does it work in summer when you leave an air conditioned store and get steamed up in humidity?
