Iron recommendation
Hey,
Someone reminded me......anyway....I need a new Iron, I hate ironing and want something that will do it easily...any recommendations? A reasonable price range of course, no more than $150 |

Re: Iron recommendation
I have an older model. $5 at a garage sale. It works by placing a chunk of hot coal in it which is efficient and quite green but not ideal because there's no coalman to deliver here. Next time I'll consider getting an electric one.

My preferred solution is to just not bother.
Which you can do on the left coast. I have to turn up to work looking like a modern day Gordon Gecko. |

Re: Iron recommendation
Rowenta have a nice product line of steam irons. The Steamium is a good compromise between quality and price. I believe they retail for around $140.00. That said, its considered bad form these days for professional men not have their shirts professionally laundered and pressed. And in this case, I'd recommend a light starch, but don't forget to take out those collar stays before you drop them off.

Re: Iron recommendation
The missus was using a fancy, expensive Rowenta... until it went Tango Uniform after only a few years. A quick online search revealed that this occurrence is not uncommon. Another quick search found a $30 Panasonic iron at Amazon... it works just fine.
