Interesting information about education levels

I hadn't seen this before, but the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and
Development (OECD), runs a study every 3 years of science and other knowledge levels of 15 year olds across multiple countries. The summary of the 2006 study is here.

Of particular note is that Canada is very near the top in all three areas tested, science, maths and reading. The UK is pretty much average and US below average. Some specific scores:

Science: Canada 534, UK 515, US 489 - Avergae about 498

Reading: Canada 527, UK 495, US ? - Average about 495

Math(s): Canada 527, UK 495, US 474 - Average about 495

Now this was 2006 and things may have changed and the ability of a 15 year old in 2006 is obviously related to schooling in the years prior to that. But it does appear to show that in these 'key' areas the Canadian schooling compares very well to that in the UK, something that others have questioned on this forum.
