I'm also old enough but not bright enough. :(

I was secondary modern scum, no latin in our skool.:p

Lucky old you :rofl: My Latin teacher was a short, very old woman who wore her black robes and mortarboard all the time. She would sneak up behind you and pull the short hairs at the back of your neck if she thought you weren't paying attention. Good she was fearsome :eek: You know what they say about small people :rofl:

oops sorry :rofl: You haven't got any Welsh in you have you? Mal is only 5'7" his mates call him the little Welshman and I manage 5'4"

God I hated latin , all my latin teachers said I had " a lively mind" in my school reports

Hah, you did "Ecce Romani" too? I remember Davus, the slavus britannicus, and I think I remember that Sextus est in piscinam cadet but not with the right case endings I'm sure. And Flavia and Cornelia were always under the tree.

Still, it has been useful :thumbsup:

I had Latin lessons, no modern books though, just dead Romans to translate, oh the horrors of a Latin unseen.

We had to write the date on the blackboard in Latin and say "salve magistra" to the teacher

it is way too much, just think what you could use those brain cells for if they werent clogged up with Latin.


but seriously, I am pleased that I studied Latin, even so briefly and badly, as its a great help with language generally.
